Backlight Big Horn Sheep Portrait

There was a very narrow field of view through which to shoot this ram. I found him first up a hill with four other photographers. As I positioned my equipment, two of them stacked themselves right behind me as if we were in a line. The goal here was to frame his head with the background trees without getting direct sunlight on your lens. It was a challenge. Personally, I wish I'd positioned myself about a foot left to frame is breath a bit better with the trees. See here about some comments on shooting backlit subjects with the Nikon D1h.
