Rosamond Dry Lake at Sunrise
Nikon D1h, 14mm f/2.8, Gitzo 410, Kirk BH-1
On Edwards AFB there's a small section of the normally restricted Rosamond Dry Lake that's used by the local Radio Controlled Aircraft Club. In the mornings when the winds are usually most calm the sound is penetrated by the whine of hi tech miniature aircraft. During the summers when dawn is before 6 am, there are few if any model aircraft pilots making the scene quite serene. This poster board is used to notate to all of what frequencies are being used.
Oh, that's the moon in the upper right of the image. This image is a 180 deg field of view, 10 picture composite brought together in Realviz Stitcher.
