I very much like finding abstract shapes while making wildlife images. Many times, I'm not able to capture the image because the subject isn't cooperative enough to hold still and develop the image. In this case, I pratically had all day because the seals weren't moving anywhere, fast. I made doublely certain the exposure wouldn't render the highlights too bright while simultaneously ensure the shadows weren't blocked up. It took quite a while working with my camera's meter to make this image happen. Fortunately, I had very cooperative subjectives.
