Pika Calling, Lassen Volcanic NP

Nikon D1h, 600mm f/4 AF-S, TC-14e, Matrix Metering, 1/1250sec, f/5.6, Manual Mode, ISO 200, Gitzo 410, Wimberly Head

I worked for almost three years to get an image of a Pika. After first learning of them in Jasper NP a few years ago, I'd check any mountain photographic location that might possibly support a Pika colony. All were fruitless until I happen upon a small group at Lassen NP. Curiously, the exact same spot the previous year didn't yield any Pikas at all.
