Flamingo Portrait (Captive)
Nikon D1h, 80-200 f/2.8 AF-S, TC-20e, Incident Reading, f/8, 1/640, ISO 200, Gitzo Monopod.
I went to the Tokyo Zoo to make intimate images of whatever wildlife I could find. Unfortunately, I realized at the gate I'd forgotten my longest lens--my 300mm f/2.8 AF-S. I was reduced to using teleconverters on my 80-200 f/2.8 AF-S. Even then, it seems to have worked out. The sharpness is especially notable in this noon-day shot.
