Flamingo Portrait (Captive)

Nikon D1h, 80-200 f/2.8 AF-S, TC-20e, Incident Reading, f/8, 1/640, ISO 200, Gitzo Monopod.

These flamingo's were grouped together in a large pen. Fortunately, they seemed to prefer to hangout near the fence which made intimate image making much easier. While the pen was extremely cluttered, I've found--using other people's suggestions by the way--that really close/cropped images can be quite interesting. It also eliminates the clutter in these situations. I wouldn't do this all the time but it sure is a nice tool when you need it.
