This particular bird was very trusting of approaches of by-standers like myself. In fact, if you moved slowly he totally disregarded your presence and went on hunting without any concern. This time, I set myself up for a head and neck shot when he continued his approach until he was less than 30 feet away. Manual focusing was a snap since he moved so slowly and would stay frozen for minutes at a time.
