Great Egret and Fish Food

These little fish populated a small marsh in Bolsa Chica Nature Preserve which probably explained why this Great Egret stayed in the area so much during my three day visit. After I shot this image, the bird gobbled up the fish in one gulp and went on hunting some more. This image was made during the only time the sun was out for the day. Since the light was at full strength, I used the sunny-16 rules and pulled the exposure -0.7ev to keep the whites from being too bright.
