Snowy Egret Landing
Nikon D1h, 300mm f/2.8 AF-S, Matrix Metering, 1/40, f/2.8, ISO 400, SB-28DX, -1.7EV Matrix Balanded Fill, RAW Format, Auto WB, Auto Tone, Handheld.
These little birds were quite fun to shoot. Generally they were more active than their bigger cousins--Great Egrets--which gave more opportunities for making in-flight images. In this case, I had waited for this bird to lift off a railing and jump into this marsh. The light was very poor which forced me to use a slow shutter speed and my flash to brighten my subject.
