It's always a great challenge when choosing a lens configuration. Trying to decide whether to put the teleconverter on or off can be trying. Sometimes you're going for the environmental shot. Sometimes you're going for the head/portrait shot. Murphy's law usually says you'll pick the wrong lens at the wrong time. I figure, if you watch a situation and just hang with some set for a period of time, verses changing all the time, you'll achieve more success.
