Snow Geese Airborne Formation
Nikon D1h, 300mm f/2.8 AF-S, Matrix Metering, 1/2500sec, f/5.6, ISO 200, RAW Format, Auto WB, Auto Tone, Handheld.
When flying around in groups, Snow Geese look a lot like fighter planes. Or, should I say fighter planes look like snow geese. Anyway, you'd think with so many birds it would'be easy to get formation shots that didn'thave overlapping wings or other body parts. In a week at Bosque, this is the only formation shot I have where none of the bird's body parts overlapped. I like the slight head tilts because it looks like they're peering "into" the turn like a speed skater verses just flying straight ahead.
