Snow Geese Blastoff
Nikon D1h, 80-200mm f/2.8 AF-S, Matrix Metering, 1/20sec, f/4, ISO 200, RAW Format, Daylight WB, Auto Tone, Handheld.
Like clockwork, an entire flock of Snow Geese will eventually blast off for no apparent reason. Most of the time they'll come right back to the same spots they took off from so if your patience you can get landing shots after the blastoff. The closer you are to this spectacle the better. Even better is positioning yourself so they blast off over your head. In most cases, you can predict their movements by placing yourself down wind which fortunately along the Farm Loop in Bosque is towards the road where most people set up their equipment.
