While the original image was quite good, it still had a bit more room for improvement. The background water was much to bright and didn't contrast enough with the bird. With the magic of Photoshop, it was a simple matter of separating the bird as its own layer then adjusting the background to the desired tone. Though the adjustment was tiny, the contribution it made was very important to the overall success of the image.
