Sandhill Crane Landing
Nikon D1h, 600mm f/4 AF-S, Incident Metering, 1/500sec, f/8, ISO 200, Gitzo 410, Wimberly Head, RAW Format
Sandhill Cranes are graceful creatures during all stages of flight. Okay, they may look a little dumb just before touching down during the landing phase. Otherwise, they're wonderful looking. The challenge is positioning youself slightly up wind so when they slow down, they're pointed towards you instead of away.
