Sandhill Crane Portrait

Nikon D1h, 600mm f/4 AF-S, TC-14e, Incident Metering, 1/800sec, f/8, ISO 200, RAW Format, Gitzo 410, Wimberly Head

I am a big fan of cropping for affect. I don't try to crop 'cause I wasn't close enough. I try to crop only to emphasize a artistic situation. Here, I loved the long neck and head of this Sandhill Crane. I decided to further emphasize it by removing all the non-essential parts of the image. The result is a very long/narrow image.
