Sandhill Crane Taking Off at Sunset

Nikon D1h, 80-200mm f/2.8 AF-S, Matrix Metering, 1/40sec, f/2.8, ISO 400, SB-28Dx, -1.7ev Fill, Better Beamer, Handheld, RAW Format

The combination of colors makes this image for me. The tone of the sky, mountains, trees, than corn fields make a nice variation. The bird is even properly framed within one of the color bands. Some photographers perfer not to look "down" a wing like this bird's left wing. I have no problem with it at all. In fact, the speed of it's left wing is so much that you can barely see it. In this case, I think it's better to still see the crane's neck than the entire wing.
