Sandhill Crane Feeding on Corn
Nikon D1h, 500mm f/4 AF-S, TC-20e, Matrix Metering, 1/350sec, f/8, -0.3EV, SB-28dx -1.7ev Fill, ISO 400, Gitzo 410, Wimberly Sidekick, Better Beamer.
There are several unique qualities in this image. First, the composition is very different. You don't have much of the bird in the fame but there's a very intimate view of his world as he hacks away at the corn. Second, I used a tiny bit of fill flash to clean up some shadows made by the sun to the left. And finally, this was made with my TC-20e. I rarely make razor sharp images with that teleconverter.
