Cormorant Portrait
Nikon D1h, 300mm f/2.8 AF-S, TC-20e, TC-14e, Incident Metering, 1/500sec, f/8, ISO 200, Gitzo 410, Wimberly Head, Raw Format, Auto WB, Low Tone.
Other than the point I've got a great subject to shoot for this image, the amazing thing is the lens configuration I used. It's my 300mm f/2.8 AF-S combined with stacked TC-20 and TC-14e's. Combined with the 1.5 magnification of the D1h--some people might look at this as a crop instead of magnification--the total focal length is 1260mm's. That's incredible for a relatively compact and light weight setup. Yes you can stack your converters so eat your heart out all those out there beating the death drum of how far behind Nikon is getting.
