Some images just show off a lenses capabilities. The Nikon has always made incredible 300mm f/2.8 lenses. The AF-S version is no slouch in my book and it's turned into my favorite lens. The real capabilites of this lens are showcased in several circumstances such as this--even light, subtle colors. I applied a bit of Unsharp Mask in Photoshop using the techniques I've written in other articles. Still, the contrast between the fawn and the background is incredible. To top it off, this image was taken with the TC-14e which supposedly reduces contrast. I'm impressed. |
