I had a very short opportunity to take images at a Burrowing Owl nest. This image was taken the morning I discovered it while taking the dog for a walk near my house. An extremely challenging situation becuase I only had a 300mm and therefore needed to get really close to make acceptable images. The going was slow and keeping my dog in a "down" during the 45 minute approach was quite a challenge. He cooperated like a champ by the way. This was the last and closest of 10 shots I took that morning. I never was able to photograph again at this location because within days the juvenile and parent abandoned the nest for the year. |
